Well after about 36 hours of travel I made it to the UK. I had to rebook my flights over because of the war in The Middle East, this meant an extra flight. Auckland – Sydney, Sydney – Singapore, and Finally Singapore to London. With a few delays along the way and a Scheduled wait in Singapore it would be fair to say that I am struggling to keep my eyes open.

Singapore is a crazy airport with lots going on but Heathrow was also pretty massive. I am staying with British Colleague who does the equivalent role in the UK.

I figured I would probably fall asleep if I didn’t organise to do something, so I went for a walk around the local Village where they live and discovered they have there own little Pilgrim tracks here and so I went for a bit of a wonder to explore but all to stretch the legs.
Their local Village is called Detling and not having been to the UK before. I am immediately struck but the age of everything. Here are some pics of the local church and the pub and then the path that I took on my walk to stretch the legs.

Walking the tracks around the village and up into the hills made me realise that there is so much history. Walking here has me even more excited than I was already to walk the Camino in France and Europe.
Thanks
Mike
